Apology

I would like to apologize for not updating my blogs. There have been many things going on that I have not been able to add this to it. We moved, because of the move I have been in more pain, my pain medication was changed so I am a little sleepier (or that could be from kids that don't sleep I don't know :D ).
Our house is chaotic as it is, I think the stress of the move had gotten everyone out of sync and out of routine (which is really bad here!).
I am hoping by next weekend I will be able to get back at it and get serious again. I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten and I do plan on continuing them.
Thank you for sticking with me, and I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found thier way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.

10 Reasons To Think Positive

10 Reasons to Think Positive
I tried coming up with a list for why a person would want to think positive. Maybe give a little motivation to want to do it. :)

1. Happier- you become an all around happier person. You are not stressing yourself out with all the negatives.

2. More Patient- because you are happier, you have more patience to deal with the daily chaos of life.

3. Healthier- while some stress is good, there are many stressors that cause unhealthy living. Emotional eating, deepening depression, anger, heart problems, lung problems if you smoke, to name a few. When you think positive there is less of a need for these unhealthy coping mechanisms. You want to feel good.

4. More energetic- negativity takes alot of energy and drags a person down. Negativity may seem easier at the time, because you have to conciously think positive, it is more energy zapping in the long run.

5. Friendlier- when you are happy, you are nicer.

6. More approachable- because you are friendlier, peolple are more apt to want to talk to you, to not be afraid of you, or steer clear of you. You draw people in.

7. Life feels a little easier- when you think of all your blessings, you concentrate on the good parts of life. You also become something of a magnet for good things.

8. More Peaceful- when you are thinking positive, you don't concentrate on all the little negative things going on.

9. More Productive- because you have more energy, you have more time to get other things done. You have more "brain" power to concetrate on what you need to do.

10. Role Model- you become a better role model for your children. You teach them how to become a happy, positive thinking person. Helping them to lead a better life.

I am sure I missed a few reasons. These are all I could come up with right now. If you can think of anything let me know!!!

Just Curious

I have a few concerns and was wondering if any of you have my answers?! I know I will speak with his doctor about them, however the dr.s don't know nearly as much as the parents do!  :)

I don't know if it's medicine, timing, summer, something else going on, or just him. I know that will all of his rages and for the most part he can be very much like a 4 year old. However, lately I have noticed that he seems to be regressing in the maturity area. He was in an ok mood yesterday (thank you God!), and I noticed that he was playing very much like a 6 year old would. He has been reading the Harry Potter books (nothing is wrong with that mind you), I know he has read them before, but this time he seems to be totally getting into them, he doesn't want to wake up to reality and wants to live in his book.

Yesterday after school, my other half found him sitting outside with his fishing tool, cutting a twig up. My first thought was he was trying to make a spear ( he has been so mean). We took the knife away from him (which he shouldn't have had anyway!) and asked him what he was doing. He was trying to make a wand. One like what Harry Potter has. Taking the knife away did not discourage him, he found a large sharp rock and finished what he was doing.

Anyway, with the help of his dad, and my other half, he now has a wand like Harry Potter's. Just waiting to stain it! He was walking around outside last night yelling out the spells that he has read about. Totally not something he has done in the past. In general he acted like a little boy again. He was even ecstatic when my other half gave him the wand when he was done with it. He is wanting to play with younger kids more often. When we got home the other day he saw a group of 6-8 year old boys (maybe younger) and he yelled, "yay, now I have someone to play with!". These boys are half his age!

Now don't get me wrong, I am totally happy if he is happy (in a good way, not over the edge happy). I am not complaing about any of this. He has always been more immature than kids his age, but it seems to be more noticeable lately. Anyway, I was just curious...

Oh and his probation officer thinks he may also have Borderline Personality Trait Disorder- but thats for another day.

Thanks for any answers, private or otherwise :)

Many Blessings

Last Supper Verse (kind of long)

When the hour came, he took his place at the table, and the disciples with him. He said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I tell you, I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God." Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he said, "Take this this and decide it among yourselves; for I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."
Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you; Do this in remembrance of me." And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. But see, the one who betrays me is with me, and his hand is on the table. For the Son of Man is going as it has been determined, but woe to that one by whom he is betrayed!"

Today's Positive Thought :)

Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress and working together is success.

I feel that this could be looked at a few different ways. Ok, a couple anway.
1st I thought about how it relates to marriage.
2nd I thought about how it relates to seeing a psychiatrist or therapist. If you don't work together you don't get anywhere, or any better.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and Blessed Sunday!

"It must be me."

Blame...we all do it.

As a mom of a special needs child ( I still have a hard time saying that.) you know that we tend to blame ourselves for everything involving our children.
You also know that other people blame you for your childs "behavior". I know we have all hear it. "Why can't you control your kid?", "What kind of parent are you to let your child behave like that?", "He doesn't act like that here, so it has to be the home environment...".

My brain knows that it is not my fault. My brain tells me (yells at me) that it is not my fault. The problem is that my heart does not believe it. As a mom in general we blame ourselves or worry about all the "wrong" things we have done while parenting (cause you know we are supposed to be perfect parents!). As a special needs mom I blame myself everyday. Every battle, every rage, every threat of running away or killing himself, every time he cries "Why can't I just be normal like the rest of the kids?".

Just when I thought I was doing okay with not blaming myself (my husband is a wonderful supporter), I got it from his "new" psychiatrist today. I wanted to walk out of her office and cry. Of course I had to be strong, he was with me. So instead of going to the mall we came straight home (I think that mall would have been a disaster anway now that I think about it!). She told me that he would have less anxiety if I spent more time with him. When?!?!?! When he is in the middle of hitting me because he is not getting his way? When he is swearing at me and telling me how awful I am because he has to clean his room, take a shower, do homework, whatever is setting him off at that time?!

I do try to spend good time with him, however, it usually ends up bad. I did or said something "wrong" to set him off again.

I will not blame myself as I go to bed tonight. It is not anything I have done to make these things happen. I will not cry when I go to bed. I did my best today and right now, that is all that matters. Everyone can tell us it is not our fault, we didn't "do" anything to cause this, it us ourselves we need to tell these things to.

I thank all of the friends I have made through various blogs, groups, social networks, etc... for all your support and non blaming ways! If I not had all of you, I would probably be in a hospital instead of fighting with him.

News to me!

I always try to be super mom, super wife, cook, house cleaner, you name it I try to do everything, too much and all at the same time.
Naturally this doesn't work. My husband has been trying to tell me this for years. With 4 kids, it didn't take long for me to realize that I am not super mom. I have moments where I wish I was, but I know I am not.
When I started blogging, my intention was to try to do a major blog with everything I enjoy and what is important to me. I had difficulty making that flow, so I added two more blogs.
There are days where I cannot even make it on this one let alone do what I need to for my other ones. I think I have written 3 posts on one blog~that one has become combines with this one~for my sanity. I need these positive thoughts.
The next blog I started was my saving money and super shopping in my area. I liked this one, I love to shop and have no money to, so how perfect!
When I tried a blog challenge, I found myself so overwhelmed by what I already was behind in doing that I never participated. See, I was trying to be a super blogger! One that knew nothing about it at that!
Therefore I have come to the conclusion that I need to concentrate on one blog.
With everything going on my home, I know in my heart this is the one I need to concentrate on for awhile. This one holds my heart. It's about my son, myself, my family and trying to keep sane amongst it all.

Today's Positive Verse

The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.
~Exodus 14:14

In the begining of the year K-LOVE (Christian radio station I listen to) was talking about picking one word to concentrate on for the year.
My word was peace. For so many reasons peace fit and everytime I thought I would choose a different word, peace kept coming back. It just fit. It seemed as though God wanted me to concentrate on that word.

After everything that has heppened in the last 2-3 weeks and especially last night, this one just brought tears to my eyes when I saw it this morning.
It is truly hard to remember that God is there helping us when things are difficult.
Many Blessings to you and may PEACE be with you :)

Parent Teacher Conference

Ok, so M had a parent teacher conference tonight. We left him home, thought it would be easier. Well it was easier for us, but poor C was watching R for us and well, M was completely out of control. We told him to stay in his room. That if he was not in his room the whole time we were gone, he would have to go to bed when we got home. We should have known better. What were we thinking?!?!?! Thank God nobody got hurt, he just got R all wound up and acting crazy with each other. Now he is at it again! Yelled at hubby to shut up and m ind his own business and to leave him be, while he is yelling at me...I don't know how we are going to get through this.

Anyway, conference, he is such a different person at school. He is doing so well! According to teachers anyway. His grades are awesome and if it weren't for late assignments, he would have straight A's. With the things he tells me that happens at school, I would expect there to be other issues. But they say no. He is a good student. No problems or very few...What gives?

How can he be two totally different people? I know kids in general are better for other people than they are their parents, but really? Come on?! I mean a total 180 different.

So much for thinking, or rather hoping, the school was finally going to put him on an IEP. They were supposed to be testing him last week and this, they still haven't. So if they don't put him on an IEP, or they won't help pay the tuition part of RTC then we wait until he is 12 and keep sending him to the state hospital. Not really something I want to do. Not at all.

I am not sure how hubby thinks I should feel about M. Or that I need to be there for him, no matter what.

If you have one child with special needs and one without, do you ever feel like you have to choose between the two? Like I am scarring R for life because of the things M does, or that I might lose R if we should split up because of M? I just don't get it. I love both of my children with all of my heart and would do nothing to hurt them. So why do I feel like I am hurting both of them?

Finally!

We finally had a nice morning. Yay!!!! There could be two different reasons for this. 1. My husband was home...2.We started him on Abilfy. Ok, I guess three reasons...3.He worked at it and was feeling good this morning. I guess I will find out tomorrow since my hubby will be at work in the am. But today was nice. How awesome it is to start the day getting along and no fighting, yelling, screaming, swearing, hitting, throwing, etc.

This weekend started rough, although I am not sure when rough stopped! He made some threats about his principle at school and with the mood and mind set he has been in, we were all kinda worried. So, I brought him to see an on call children's counselor. He fought with me the whole way there. Told me he was not talking to some gay person. Ok, so this was the first time he had to see a man. Boy did he let this counselor have it. Swore at him, told him he wasn't talking to him. Yelled at me that all this was my fault. And on and on. There were times that if I closed my eyes, I could see his dad saying those things to me. M is getting to sound more and more like his dad~which is really scary. We were going to admit him to an acute behavioral hospital 1 1/2 hours away. It would have been awful getting him there, but is that was what we had to do, then so be it. Naturally they did not have any open beds. So we were put on a waiting list. He is still home.

M went to his dad's after that appointment. His dad lets him do what he wants so there weren't too many problems there. M came home Sat. after ice skating and kinda stayed down in his room. We had some trouble but not terrible. Sunday he wanted to go ice skating. i had no cash to give him so I said no. He got mad, said he was going to his dads to get money. Well, not 20 mins later he was home crying. He got bit by a dog. I so hope he was telling me the truth, but you never know. This big black lap got out of the gate when his owner was trying to get out. Jumped on M and bit him on the elbow and the back by his shoulder blade. M is ok. Just superficial wounds and scared. We called the police and reported it and went to the er. (which is quite funny and coincidental, but that story is for another time). He is fine, no stitches, nothing broken.

Guess what? If he would have stayed home like he was supposed to, or if he didn't go down an alley that is further down the road than his dad's; he would not have gotten bitten. I told him this and I just got a glare! Oh well, he is safe and home, that's what matters.

I hope you all have a good week and I will be back again! No telling when ;)
